The team at Soil Acoustics will be joining the upcoming Regenerative Viticulture Workshop hosted by the Regenerative Viticulture Foundation and WineGB at The Grange Winery in Hampshire on 14 August 2025.
The Regenerative Viticulture workshop is set to be a fantastic day for vineyard owners, managers and anyone interested in regenerative practices. We’ll be hearing from experts and practitioners who are trialling regenerative approaches, from canopy management and planting decisions to floor treatments, composting and biochar applications.
We’ll be joining Abbey Rose from Soil Mentor, Joel from Vinescapes and JoJo’s Vineyard’s Ian Beecher-Jones for a panel discussion, sharing insights into the role of soil acoustics in vineyard soil health. As you may already know, our Soil Acoustic Meter (SAM), captures the sounds of biological activity in the soil. The SAM is a powerful tool for vineyards trialling regenerative viticulture or moving towards more nature friendly practices. By listening to the sounds of earthworms, ants, beetles and other invertebrates, hidden underground, SAM gives you a real-time measure of soil biological activity, an essential indicator of soil health. For vineyard managers, this means you can track how your regenerative practices are supporting microbial life, monitor soil recovery after interventions, and make data-driven decisions to improve vine resilience, fruit quality and long-term soil fertility.
Before the workshop, our team will be heading to The Grange’s vineyard to take some soil sound recordings from different areas so that we can analyse them via the data portal and demonstrate what insights can be gained. We’re looking forward to sharing these at our lunchtime display on the day, so you can hopefully hear the difference that regenerative practices make underground.
If you’re curious about how regenerative viticulture could transform your vineyard, above and below ground, this is not an event to miss.
