Our 2026 Summer Events Line-Up: FarmFest, Cereals and Groundswell

Our 2026 Summer Events Line-Up: FarmFest, Cereals and Groundswell

Spring has arrived, the ground is starting to warm, and for us at Soil Acoustics, that can only mean one thing — show season is here.

This summer, we’re heading out across the UK to connect with farmers, researchers, land managers and innovators, bringing soil acoustics to the heart of some of the most exciting agricultural events in the calendar. From hands-on field demos to festival-style gatherings, it’s shaping up to be a brilliant few months.

Here’s where you can find us.

Kicking Things Off: NatureTech at Rothamsted

Before the summer shows begin in full, we’ll be exhibiting at the NatureTech showcase hosted by Agri-TechE at Rothamsted Research.

These events are always a highlight for us, bringing together forward-thinking organisations exploring how technology can support better outcomes for nature within agricultural systems.

We’ll be demonstrating how the Soil Acoustic Meter (SAM) is being used as:

  • A baselining tool for Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) and nature recovery projects
  • An ongoing soil health monitoring solution
  • A practical way to measure change within regenerative farming systems

Alongside us will be a fantastic mix of speakers and exhibitors including AgriSound, Wilder Sensing, Newcastle University and Downforce Technologies, making it a great opportunity to explore the cutting edge of agri-tech innovation.

A New Addition: FarmFest

Next up is something a little different, and we’re really looking forward to it.

We’ve been invited by Wildfarmed to exhibit as part of the Farm-Lab experience at FarmFest, a brand-new event hosted by the team behind Clarkson’s Farm. Taking place over the May bank holiday weekend, FarmFest promises to be a unique blend of farming, food, innovation and festival energy.

The Farm-Lab itself is designed as an interactive, walk-through showcase of modern agriculture, highlighting the technology and practices shaping the future of farming. We’ll be there demonstrating how soil acoustics allows you to literally listen to what’s happening beneath your feet.

It’s a slightly different pace from our usual events, more festival than field day, so we’ll be leaning into it fully. Campervan packed, team assembled and ready for a weekend of great conversations (and hopefully good weather).

Our First Time at Cereals Event

In June, we’ll be heading to Cereals for the first time, and this year’s event comes with a bit of extra buzz as it’s hosted at Diddly Squat Farm. After speaking to so many people at CropTec who asked if we’d be there, it felt like the right time to add it to the calendar.

Cereals is one of the UK’s key arable events, bringing together farmers, agronomists and industry professionals to explore the latest developments in crop production, machinery and farm management. We’ll be there with the SAM, ready to talk about how soil biology can be measured, monitored and better understood as part of a modern farming system.

And because tickets are limited this year, we’ll also be running a small giveaway and offering a handful of guest passes to those keen to come along and see what soil acoustics is all about.

Back to Where It Began: Groundswell

Finally, we return to one of the most important events in our journey: Groundswell.

Groundswell was the first event we attended as Soil Acoustics, and it remains a firm favourite. It’s where conversations around regenerative agriculture, soil health and sustainable food production really come to life. There’s something unique about Groundswell — a sense of openness, curiosity and collaboration that brings together farmers, scientists, brands and policymakers in a genuinely meaningful way.

We’re looking forward to being back among familiar faces, meeting new ones and continuing the conversation around how we measure and understand soil health in a changing agricultural landscape.

Listening to the Soil This Season

As we head into the warmer months, soil conditions are changing, and that makes it the perfect time to get out into the field and start sampling.

Last autumn, we ran large-scale pilot projects comparing conventionally farmed land with fields at different stages of regenerative transition. What we found was clear: there is a measurable, meaningful difference in how soil sounds depending on how it is managed.

Now, with customers in 13 countries, soil acoustics is being used across a wide range of applications, from vineyards to large-scale farming systems, and from BNG baselining to long-term ecological monitoring.

To support this growing community, we’re now offering:

  • Half-day training sessions (online or in-person) to ensure consistent data collection
  • A live data analysis subscription service, with flexible tiers depending on usage
  • Ongoing support through our user network and WhatsApp community

Come and Find Us

If you’re attending any of these events, we’d love to meet you.

Whether you’re already using soil acoustics or just curious about how it works, come and say hello, ask questions, and see the technology in action. The more we understand what’s happening beneath the surface, the better decisions we can make above it.
