Tuning Into the Future of Viticulture at the Vineyard Show

We’re looking forward to heading to the Vineyard Show at the Kent County Showground later this month. Now in its fifth year, the event has become a must-attend date in the calendar for vineyard owners, winemakers, and growers from across the UK.

The Vineyard Show is a place where the industry comes together to explore the latest innovations, meet with suppliers and technical specialists, and share insights on the future of British wine. And of course, it wouldn’t be the Vineyard Show without a little wine tasting along the way!

The show also offers a fantastic learning opportunity, with seminars and workshops led by key voices from across the sector. From viticulture and winemaking techniques to marketing and sustainability strategies, the sessions provide valuable takeaways for anyone involved in the growing UK wine industry.

After connecting with so many inspiring people at the Regenerative Viticulture Foundation and WineGB events throughout the year, we’re thrilled to have been invited to join a panel discussion on innovations in viticulture at this year’s show.

The New Face of Regenerative Viticulture, moderated by Anne Jones, will examine how grape growing has evolved from pre-war practices to the present day, including an exploration of the ‘one block challenge’. Joining our Director Andrew Baker on the panel for that discussion will include Ian Beecher-Jones from JoJo’s Vineyard, who will then stay on to lead a talk (12:45) on WineGB’s technology group, and Kelly Mulville from Pacines Ranch, California.

If you’ll be at the event, come and say hello – we’d love to chat about how soil ecoacoustics can be integrated into your soil health monitoring regime.

It’s hard to believe that it’s only been three years since our first step into the viticulture world at the World Living Soils Forum with Moët Hennessy and Ruinart. Back then, soil ecoacoustics was still in its infancy – an exciting concept that was just beginning to take shape. Fast forward to today, and that idea has evolved into a fully realised product: the Soil Acoustic Meter (SAM).

As an emerging science it’s the field trials that test the concept and grow the data so a special thank you goes to all our partners, whose collaboration and insight have been instrumental in helping us refine and validate our technology. In particular, we’d like to thank Ian Beecher-Jones and the team at JoJo’s Vineyard for being among the first to believe in what we’re doing and helping us bring Soil Acoustics to life within the viticulture sector.

We can’t wait to see what’s next for soil acoustics in vineyards and beyond, and we’re looking forward to some great conversations at the Vineyard Show. See you there on Wednesday 19 November!
