Soil Acoustics Named in Small Business Britain’s Green Growth 100 for Sustainability-Led Innovation

We’re delighted to share that Soil Acoustics has been selected for Small Business Britain’s Green Growth 100, a list celebrating 100 UK small businesses leading the way in sustainability-led growth.

Launched by Small Business Britain in partnership with BT, the Green Growth 100 recognises companies that are proving sustainability and commercial success can go hand in hand. From cutting waste and saving energy to redesigning supply chains and developing new products, these businesses show that doing better for the planet can also be good for business.

For Soil Acoustics, sustainability isn’t an add-on, it’s the foundation of what we do. Our patented Soil Acoustic Meter (SAM) is designed to help farmers, growers and land managers better understand soil health by listening to the biological activity underground. By capturing and analysing the sounds made by soil organisms, SAM provides a non-invasive, data-driven way to monitor soil life and track changes over time.

Healthy soils are central to sustainable food production, carbon storage and biodiversity. By making soil life measurable and visible, we aim to support more informed land management decisions that benefit both productivity and the environment. Being recognised by Green Growth 100 highlights the growing importance of practical, science-led tools that support regenerative and sustainable agriculture.

Like many small, hardware-focused businesses, one of our biggest challenges is securing the investment needed to scale development and meet demand. We’re a small team with a big vision for global impact, and recognition like this helps open doors, build credibility and connect us with opportunities to grow.

To celebrate, we’ll be heading to London in March for the Green Growth 100 event, hosted by TV presenter and sustainability champion Ben Fogle. We’ll also be keeping our fingers crossed as two businesses on the list will each receive a £5,000 grant to support their sustainability ambitions.

Being part of this cohort is a proud milestone for Soil Acoustics, and a clear sign that sustainability-driven innovation is flourishing among UK small businesses. We’re looking forward to celebrating in London next month and building connections with fellow businesses working towards a more sustainable future.
