We’re excited to announce that Soil Acoustics will be attending the first-ever International Conservation Technology Conference (ICTC) in Lima, Peru on 18 – 20 February. Hosted by WILDLABS in partnership with leading organisations from across the globe, this milestone event will bring together the conservation technology community in person for the very first time.
Over three days, practitioners, researchers, innovators, funders and decision-makers will gather to share insights, tackle pressing environmental challenges, and explore the next frontier of technological solutions for conservation.
Conservation technology has advanced rapidly over the past decade, transforming how ecosystems are monitored, understood and protected. From drone-based wildlife tracking to satellite-enabled habitat mapping, the sector has been able to generate previously untapped volumes of data that inform smarter conservation decisions. However, alongside these advancements comes a growing need for collaboration and knowledge exchange. The ICTC will provide a dedicated space for the global community to come together, share lessons learned so far and explore innovative approaches to pressing environmental problems.
Delegates will participate in hands-on workshops, interactive sessions and cross-sector discussions designed to spark innovation and collaboration. The conference also serves as a platform to explore emerging technologies that are shaping the future of conservation, from artificial intelligence for ecological monitoring to cutting-edge sensor systems that track ecosystem health in real time.
For Soil Acoustics, ICTC represents an exciting opportunity to highlight how our Soil Acoustic Meter (SAM) is supporting the advancement of soil monitoring practices. By using sound to assess soil health in real time, the SAM provides accurate, non-invasive insights that help land managers and researchers further optimise their soil management practices, improve crop and ecosystem resilience and promote sustainable land use. We’re especially keen to engage with fellow researchers, innovators and conservation practitioners to explore how soil acoustic monitoring can complement other emerging technologies and contribute to integrated conservation strategies worldwide.
We’re also pleased to share that Karthik, Data Analyst at Soil Acoustics, will be speaking at the conference. His session, “Listening to the Soil – How Passive Acoustics Can Shape the Future of Soil Restoration,” will explore how acoustic monitoring can inform restoration strategies and complement other emerging technologies in conservation.
Attending ICTC will also provide our team with the opportunity to gather knowledge from leading-edge projects around the world, stay abreast of innovations in ecosystem monitoring, and build relationships that can translate into practical impact for our clients and partners. We look forward to sharing our experiences from the conference and bringing back insights that will help push the boundaries of soil health monitoring, sustainable land management and ecosystem conservation.
