Celebrating Our Place as Green Growth 100 2026 Alumni

A few weeks ago, we had the pleasure of attending Small Business Britain’s Green Growth Awards, in partnership with BT. Not only was it fantastic to be in the room with so many forward-thinking businesses, but it was also a real honour for Soil Acoustics to be recognised alongside 99 other organisations as part of the Green Growth 100 2026 alumni.

Held at the iconic BT Tower in London, the event brought together a community of businesses proving that sustainability and growth can go hand in hand. It was an inspiring reminder that meaningful environmental action isn’t just good for the planet, it’s good for business too.

We also had the chance to hear from Ben Fogle, who hosted the awards. He shared stories from his career in broadcasting and environmental campaigning, alongside some refreshingly honest reflections on the realities of running a small business, having recently acquired Buffalo Systems in Sheffield. As part of the ceremony, two businesses were each awarded a £5,000 grant to support their sustainability goals, a brilliant initiative helping small businesses to accelerate their impact. We’d like to wish a huge congratulations to both winners, it’s fantastic to see that kind of support going directly to businesses driving real change.

Michelle Ovens CBE, CEO and Founder of Small Business Britain, summed it up perfectly: “The Green Growth 100 celebrates the small businesses that are showing sustainability and growth go hand in hand. These businesses are not only reducing their environmental impact, but also strengthening their operations, engaging customers, and building more resilient business models. Niche is a brilliant example of how sustainability can fuel long-term success.”

This Green Growth 100 follows the work of the Willow Review, an independent, Government-backed review into the financial benefits of sustainability, which was co-chaired by Small Business Britain with BT sitting as a Steering Board member. The Willow Review published its landmark recommendations last summer, outlining a roadmap to unlock the vast financial opportunities of sustainability for Britain’s 5.6 million small businesses.

Chris Sims, Chief Commercial Officer, UK Business, at BT, added “The businesses in the Green Growth 100 are setting the benchmark for how sustainability can unlock innovation and commercial opportunity. It’s inspiring to see how small businesses across the UK are turning greener practices into real business growth. We’re proud to support this initiative and congratulate Niche on being recognised.”

At Soil Acoustics, sustainability is central to everything we do. Our mission is to give farmers and land managers better visibility into what’s happening beneath the surface, using soil sound to unlock insights that traditional methods can’t capture.

By helping to monitor soil health in real time, we’re enabling more informed decisions around inputs, land use and long-term management. That means reducing unnecessary interventions, improving soil resilience and ultimately supporting more sustainable and productive agricultural systems.

We see Soil Acoustics as part of a much bigger shift within the agtech sector — one that’s moving towards data-driven, environmentally conscious farming at scale. By contributing to this shift, we’re helping to build the foundations for a more resilient food system.

Collaboration is key to making that happen. We’ve worked alongside some great partners, including JoJo’s Vineyard, Yeo Valley, Ruinart, FirstMilk, Wildfarmed and more in advancing sustainable practices when it comes to dealing with soil and its health.

Being named in the Green Growth 100 is a proud moment for us, but it’s also a reminder that there’s still more to do. We’re excited to keep building, collaborating and pushing the boundaries of what sustainable agriculture can look like, both in the UK and beyond.
